Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge .......

Happy Thursday evening .......

Welcome to August!
The beginning of a new month means the start of all the monthly blog challenges again.
It's time for the Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge this evening, and we've got a nice easy theme for you this month ..... it's all about using  Die Cuts

I've used a couple of different ones on my card ..... one to cut out the pretty butterfly image, and one for the sentiment.

I die cut the word happy  twice, once from the piece of  white card that makes up the card front, and again from a scrap of black card.  I then inlaid the black version back into the white card, coloured the white happy using Distress Oxides and then layered that over the top of the black one ......

I off set it slightly to give it a shadow and make it stand out a little more .....

I splattered a little of the Distress Oxide onto the background to add a bit more interest

and stamped the rest of the sentiment underneath ....

The butterfly has been stamped using the same colours of Oxides ....... and then cut out using the matching die

I added a touch of sparkle with some crystal glitter and attached it to the card front using foam pads

There's so many fabulous dies on the market now, and it's great that a lot of stamp sets now have matching dies so no need for fussy cutting ..... makes life a lot easier!

I don't know what the weather's like where you are but I think our summer's over here. 
It's done nothing but rain for the last couple of days, and would you believe it ..... there's a hosepipe ban from tomorrow!!   Oh well ..... hopefully the sun will be back soon.

It's not been a bad week though ..... it was our 30th Wedding Anniversary on Monday.  I can't believe we've been together for THREE decades ....... that's

Even though it was a Monday, our favourite restaurant was open, and we ended the evening with a nice bottle of the bubbly stuff ....... here's to the next 30 years

I've got an early start in the morning ...... the decorators are here.  Not a major job, just a couple of bedrooms getting a bit of a face lift.  I'll be on tea and coffee duty all day no doubt.   At least I can get on with my major clear out in the craft room.
